Optimize detection and control with our sensors. How this works is evident in the special machines of IAI

A flawless production starts with certainty. Provided through detection and control, as seen in the special machines of IAI. The Veldhoven-based company leaves nothing to chance, no matter how specific a customer's requirements and needs are. It must be flawless, minimized to the bare minimum. And our sensors contribute to that.

At IAI in Veldhoven, everything revolves around the details. Captured in special machines, which the company develops, designs, and assembles itself. Once at the customer's site, the machines ensure the personalization of passports and ID cards through printing techniques and laser engravings. It is a specific process, with utmost precision as a prerequisite. Even the embossing of each page must be exactly right, as well as the shadow watermarks and the ink used, for example. Moreover, IAI delivers its own machines worldwide, with different customer requirements for each country.

Meeting all parameters

Standard production is not an option for IAI. However, the many parameters for personalization must be correct, which requires a flawless production process for each machine. Is there actually a document on the line? Is the positioning correct, and is the distance between two documents accurate? Certainty forms the basis, even here. And that's precisely where we contribute, with multiple types of sensors for detection and control.

PM Series fork sensors

An IAI machine typically has about twenty to thirty of our sensors. Many of these belong to our PM series, such as the PM-25, PM-45, and P-65. All these photoelectric fork sensors have a U-shape and emit a light beam between the two ends of that 'U'. If the beam is interrupted, our products detect and relay this information. The PM fork sensors are compact and therefore easy to install in confined spaces. Additionally, with their robust design and built-in protection circuits, they can reliably operate in an industrial environment.

EX13EAPN mini sensor

Detection is also ensured by the EX13EAPN. This photoelectric mini sensor is ultra-slim, allowing IAI customers to maintain control over personalization even in the tightest spaces of the machine. The EX13EAPN is only 3.5 millimeters thick, has a built-in amplifier, and offers an extremely fast response time of no more than 0.5 milliseconds. Additionally, the sensor meets the IP67 classification, among others, allowing detection to occur under the harshest conditions.

Custom sensors

The EX13EAPN and PM sensors perform reliably in IAI's machines. The company, like its customers, has little to worry about, especially now that we are supplying custom sensors. Just delivering them? We prefer to add value for our customers wherever possible. We equip the sensors with connectors and cables, each with the correct length. This allows IAI to quickly continue with its own production process, saving man-hours. Leave nothing to chance, just like IAI.
