Take-back of WEEE/Battery disposal

We are striving to create 'A Better Life, A Better World'

Take-back of WEEE

According to the EU Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and the EU Council on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and the revised EU Directive 2012/19/EU, there is an obligation to organize and finance collection, treatment and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with the before mentioned regulations. According to the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) in Germany, every producer is obliged to create a reasonable possibility to return waste electrical equipment from users other than private households.

We take our responsibility seriously and ensure a high-quality recycling process for our products when they become waste. For devices that have been used commercially or in public institutions - so-called B2B devices - we have provided convenient return and disposal solutions for you.

Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH has concluded a recycling agreement with the European Advanced Recycling Network (EARN Elektroaltgeräte Service GmbH) so to organise the transport, preparation for re-use, recycling and recovery of WEEE with certified recycling partners. Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH bears the costs for the treatment, recycling and recovery of Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH products. In return, Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH asks its customers to bear the costs of transport to the certified recycling company.

Possibility of returning and disposing of old appliances

You would like to dispose of an electrical appliance purchased from Panasonic Industry Europe GmbH correctly. You have the option of instructing a carrier of your choice or an appropriate parcel service to send the waste electrical equipment to our recycling partner.

Please click on the link below and fill out the form. A file will then be created containing the address data of the responsible recycling company, the sender details (your data) and other information necessary for processing. Please print out this file and attach the printout in a clearly visible position on the consignment containing the waste electrical equipment for dispatch. You will also receive this information and the file separately by e-mail.

Personal responsibility with regard to the deletion of personal data

We explicitly point out that according to § 19a ElektroG you are responsible to delete any personal data on the appliances considered for disposal.

Meaning of the symbol for the marking of electrical appliances

The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin on electrical appliances indicates that they must be collected separately and means that they must not be disposed of with household waste.

Battery disposal

In accordance with §18 of the Battery Act, we hereby inform you that used batteries may not be disposed of in household waste.
End users in Germany are legally obliged to return used batteries to a suitable collection point. After they reach their end-of-life, the batteries can be returned free of charge in the commercial shop.

The symbol of the crossed-out garbage indicates a separate collection of used batteries and means that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of in household waste.
Certain batteries containing harmful substances are additionally marked with the following signs under the garbage can symbol. These mean:

  • Pb: Battery contains lead
  • Cd: Battery contains cadmium
  • Hg: Battery contains mercury
