Discover Panasonic Industry’s new Flat Wide Detection Type PIR sensor featuring PaPIRs+ technology. Sleek design, 136° wide coverage, and advanced motion detection for building automation, smart lighting, and smart homes.

Flat wide detection PIR sensor – Discreet design meets high-performance motion detection

Overview

Panasonic Industry’s Flat Wide Detection Type PIR sensor is the first to integrate PaPIRs+ next-generation detection technology, delivering gap-free motion detection with a sleek, flat lens design. Ideal for aesthetic-sensitive applications, this sensor offers:

  • Ultra-wide field of view: 136.4° × 135.4° for maximum coverage
  • Reduced sensor count: Simplifies installation and lowers costs
  • Elegant design: Available in white, pearl white, and black

 Key Specifications

  • Coverage: ≈ Ø15 m at 3.0 m ceiling height
  • Detection zones: 416 for precise motion sensing
  • Lens diameter: 32.6 mm
  • Current consumption: 1 µA to 170 µA (four variants)
  • Output interfaces: Digital (open-drain) & Analog (op-amp)
  • Operating temperature: –20 °C to +60 °C
  • Lens sealing: O-ring support for enhanced IP rating

Where to use the Flat Wide Detection PIR sensor

  • Building automation: Typically used alongside KNX and Modbus devices
  • Professional lighting control: Commonly integrated with DALI, DALI2, and BLE systems used in smart lighting applications
  • Smart homes: Often combined with WiFi, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and LoRa networks found in next-generation home automation setups

Detection performance

Enhanced by PaPIRs+ technology, this sensor ensures superior motion detection across its maximum radius. Performance varies by movement direction, temperature, and object size. Contact us for IEC 63180-compliant test data.

(IEC 63180 is an international standard that specifies methods and test procedures for measuring and declaring the detection range of passive infrared (PIR) motion detectors used in electronic control devices and building automation systems)
