Panasonic Industry expands EVP Series with new EVP-BX quiet-type tactile switches
Panasonic Industry has expanded its EVP-BD, EVP-0B, EVP-CD, and EVP-BX Series of 6.0mm x 6.0mm SMD top-push, 2-terminal tactile switches with the introduction of the EVP-BX (quiet-type) switch. The new addition brings a silent operating option to the established EVP lineup, giving design engineers greater flexibility when specifying tactile switches for noise-sensitive applications.
Available with 4N and 6N operating forces, the EVP-BX quiet-type switches are rated for a very long lifespan of 200,000 cycles, making them well suited for automotive, audio, and industrial applications where both durability and quiet operation are essential.
"The addition of the EVP-BX series gives designers a low-noise tactile switch option without compromising on reliable performance or tactile feedback," says Maria Dieplinger, Product Manager HMI Industry from Panasonic Industry. "This expansion reflects our continued commitment to offering flexible switch solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers across multiple industries."
The EVP-BX switches offer a high click ratio of operating force versus travel distance, delivering a crisp tactile feel, while their rubber dome construction ensures quiet operation true to the series' silent-type design. A high operating force combined with a long travel distance reduces the chance of unintentional activation.
These characteristics make the EVP-BX well suited to a wide range of applications, including human user interface switches, smartphones, earbuds, speakers, AR glasses, and hand scanners. The series is also suited for human interface control panels, gaming controllers, and on/off switches for portable medical devices.
